Radio system removal instructions

X350

  • Remove the J-Gate trim by opening the ashtray and lifting up from the edge
  • Remove the 2 x T30 Torx bolts holding the centre console in place
  • 2-Zone climate – remove the rear vents then remove the 2 x T30 bolts holding the rear of the centre console in place
  • 4-Zone climate – remove the 2 lower side vents then remove the 2 x T30 bolts holding the rear of the centre console in place
  • Pull out the centre rear vents and control panel and disconnect the wiring
  • Carefully pull the centre console up at the rear, then pull towards the back of the car to remove it
  • Remove the 4 x T30 Torx bolts holding the audio system control assembly in place
  • Pull the audio system assembly out of the dash and disconnect all the connectors
  • Separate the Touchscreen (if fitted) and CD Player from the brackets

X-Type

You will need to select Neutral (having inserted key into ignition and turned to position II). Once in Neutral turn key back to 0. You will be unable to remove the key whilst in Neutral. Once the audio system has been removed you can turn ignition back to position II and put the car back into Park. 

  • Remove the J-Gate trim by opening the ashtray and lifting up trim from the edge
  • Remove 2  x crosshead screws holding the ashtray in place
  • Pull out the ashtray, and disconnect the cigar lighter connectors
  • Remove the trim strip underneath the CD player
  • Remove 4 x T30 Torx bolts holding the audio system assembly in place
  • Pull the audio system assembly out of the dash and disconnect all the connectors
  • Note the position of the hazard warning and heated seat connectors
  • Separate the Touchscreen (if fitted) and CD Player from the brackets
